Young people aged under 21 are invited to write up to 500 words, illustrating them with drawings and/or photos if they wish to. The topic must be an experience in Nature, whether it’s a special place a certain animal or plant they are fascinated by or a memory of a time well spent in the outdoors.
This competition is open to young people from anywhere in Kerry.
This competition is open until August 12th 2021 after which date three category winners and three runners up will be selected. From the three winners, an overall winner will also be selected.
Winners will be selected from 3 categories under 12, 13-16 years and 17-21years.
This competition is being held in collaboration with several other Biosphere Reserves in Ireland and the UK. The overall winner from the Kerry competition will be entered into the international competition with the opportunity to have their work shown internationally and further prizes to be won. This competition is an official 50th Year anniversary celebratory event for the UNESCO Man and the Biosphere Programme.
